Wing Ho was born and grew up in Hong Kong, he moved to the United States when he was age 18. After he completed his 5-year professional degree in Architecture (Bachelor of Architecture) at the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc), Wing brought his talents working in the Architecture field as a Design Architect, Licensed Contractor, Project and Construction Manager for 18+ years. Wing met his wife and started his family in the City of Alhambra. They lived in the City of Alhambra for more than 19 years and proud to be Alhambra residents.

A Long-time Alhambra Community Servant
Until his appointment to the AUSD Board in January 2019, Wing served as a commissioner for the City of Alhambra Planning Commission, and the Alhambra Design Review Board for eight years. Wing also served on the Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA/LA) and the Chinatown Community Advisory Committee (CCAC), represented local community organizations appointed by the former Councilmember Ed Reyes (First District ). Wing currently serves as the Board President on the Los Angeles Chinatown Firecracker Run Committee to promote health and fitness, education, cultural awareness, and community involvement.
Wing commits to providing services and programs that benefit our local schools and neighborhoods.
“When I heard that there was a vacancy for the Alhambra School Board, I immediately realized that I wanted to devote my time to serving the students, parents and the communities of Alhambra, Monterey Park and Rosemead.”
Philosophy on School and Education
Wing believes in providing a good education system. A good teaching and learning environment are the key ingredients for the next generation to become a successful and good citizen. Wing strongly supports training for young children with independent and analytical thinking, social skills, and having responsibility.
Wing understands that the role of the school board is to analyze the existing challenges, allocate adequate resources to reach the district goals and objectives. Together with the school board, Wing will provide short-term and long-term vision to promote favorable school climate including inclusive and accepting of everyone in the school, improve student achievement, and develop/maintain policies and organizational structure to support boards and educational goals.
Wing has brought his knowledge gathered from his professional work experience, civil services, and community involvement to the school district. Wing commits to continue working closely with the board to provide oversight for the overall school district values and responsibilities. The goal is to set the direction with an effective and efficient structure, provide support to the schools, and to be accountable for decision making. Wing encourages AUSD to provide community outreach/leadership for the children, parents, and the schools within the district.
Wing was trained as a professional Architect and working as Project Manager, Construction Manager for 18 years. His professional experience includes school, healthcare, civil, and government facilities. Wing has the expertise in building costs, processes, and design effectiveness, which would continue to be invaluable in his role with AUSD.
Going forward, social distancing is one of the models when schools reopen, Wing understands the implications, and assess the risks. The skillset and experiences with Wing, along with his proven engagement in the classroom, at fire scenes, at board meetings. Wing is there in good times and bad.
